1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the QuickScan: QR Scanner mobile application, published under the package name com.wenp.mega.quickscan. In this policy, “QuickScan”, “we”, “us” or “our” means the QuickScan application and its related services.
2. Information We Collect
Information processed on your device
- Scanned QR or barcode content: used to show scan results and perform actions such as opening a URL, joining Wi‑Fi, copying text or saving a result to history.
- Scan history: stored locally on your device so you can revisit previous scan results.
- App language and settings: stored locally to provide your preferred experience.
Information that may be sent to our server
- Donation display information: if you choose to support the app, a display name, product identifier and donation time may be used to show supporter records or acknowledgements.
- Purchase verification data: for Google Play in-app donations, product identifiers and purchase tokens may be transmitted to verify that a purchase is valid and to prevent fraud.
- Push notification token: if notifications are enabled, Firebase Cloud Messaging may provide a device token so we can send relevant app notifications.
- Technical usage data: IP address, device model, operating system version, request time and similar diagnostic data may be included in server logs when the app communicates with our services.
We do not intentionally collect the contents of your scanned QR codes or barcodes on our server, unless you separately choose to send such content to us, for example in a support request.
3. Scanning and History
QuickScan uses your device camera to recognize QR codes and barcodes. The scan recognition process is performed on your device. Scan history is saved locally on your device using local app storage. You can clear your history from within the app where this feature is available, and uninstalling the app normally removes locally stored app data from your device.
4. Donations and Google Play Purchases
QuickScan may provide optional in-app donation products to support development. Payments are processed by Google Play. We do not receive, collect, store or process your credit card number, bank account details or other payment card information.
To verify donations and reduce abuse, QuickScan may send purchase-related data such as the product identifier, purchase token, order status and donation display name to our server. This information is used only for purchase validation, support, fraud prevention and acknowledgement features.
5. App Permissions
- Camera: required to scan QR codes and barcodes.
- Internet: used for Google Play Billing, donation verification, supporter records, updates, support and optional push notification services.
- Notifications: used only if you allow notification permission. You can disable notifications in your system settings.
- Location or nearby network related access: may be requested by Android for Wi‑Fi QR features depending on your device and OS version. This is used to support Wi‑Fi-related actions, not to track your location.
- Storage or local data access: used by the app to save local history and settings where required by the operating system.
6. How We Use Information
- To provide QR and barcode scanning features.
- To save and display scan history on your device.
- To process optional Google Play donation verification.
- To display supporter acknowledgements when applicable.
- To maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the app.
- To respond to your support requests.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers only when necessary to provide the app, such as Google Play Billing for purchases and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to prevent fraud or to respond to valid legal requests.
Third-party services may process information under their own privacy policies. For example, Google Play handles payments and may collect information needed for billing and account management.
8. Data Retention
- Scan history: stored locally on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Donation records: retained for as long as reasonably necessary for purchase verification, supporter acknowledgement, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute resolution and legal compliance.
- Server logs: retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, diagnostics and service operation.
- Notification tokens: retained while they are useful for notification delivery and may be deleted or replaced when the app is reinstalled, permissions change or tokens expire.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- You can deny or revoke camera and notification permissions through your device settings.
- You can clear local scan history in the app where supported.
- You can uninstall the app to remove local app data from your device.
- You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information that we may hold about you, subject to legal and technical limitations.
10. Children’s Privacy
QuickScan is suitable for a broad audience, including users aged 6 and above. The app is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by QuickScan. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries or regions where our service providers operate. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure information is handled according to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
13. Links to Other Websites
Scan results may contain links to third-party websites. QuickScan is not responsible for the content, security or privacy practices of websites or services that are not operated by us. Please review the privacy policies of those third-party services before using them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Changes are effective when posted.
